Amy Watson
Amy Watson is a PhD Student in the Department of Central and East European Studies at the University of Glasgow. She researches on gendered experiences of neoliberalism and welfare austerity in the Czech Republic (with reference to the EU more broadly), with a particular focus on social policy practised by 'street level bureaucrats', narratives about the value of work and the shame of unemployment, post-work ideologies, and unpaid caring labour. Before commencing her PhD, Amy worked as Coordinator for the UK Women's Budget Group. She has worked in a number of public sector administrative and social research roles.
