M Sanjeeb Hossain and Maja Janmyr

M Sanjeeb Hossain is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Law, Oslo University. At Oslo, as part of the Horizon 2020-project ASILE, Sanjeeb focuses on the plight of Rohingya refugees through the prism of status, rights and vulnerabilities. Sanjeeb completed his doctoral research at Warwick Law School, where his work focused on the legality and legitimacy of the International Crimes Tribunals of Bangladesh. In the recent past, Sanjeeb’s writings on the plight of Rohingya refugees and impunity for mass atrocities in the context of Bangladesh’s Liberation War of 1971 have appeared in the Forced Migration Review (FMR) and edited volumes books published by European University Institute (EUI), Routledge and Brill. .................................................................................................................................................................................. Maja Janmyr is Professor of International Migration Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Oslo, and a Research Associate at the Refugee Studies Centre of the University of Oxford. Her work takes a socio-legal approach to international law, examining in particular how international refugee law is interpreted and implemented in local contexts. Professor Janmyr leads several large research projects, and currently holds a Starting Grant (2021-2026) from the European Research Council for the project “Protection without Ratification? International Refugee Law beyond States Parties to the 1951 Refugee Convention (BEYOND)”. She holds a PhD in international law from the University of Bergen.
