Christine Bacon

Christine Bacon is Artistic Director of ice&fire, the only theatre company which places the human rights issues of the day at the core of its work. Before joining ice&fire, Christine was an actor and activist in Australia and then came to the UK to complete an MSc in Forced Migration at the Refugee Studies Centre at Oxford University. She has written over a dozen testimony plays for ice&fire, as well as On the Record (Arcola 2011, with Noah Birksted-Breen) and The Island Nation. She is currently developing a musical with songwriter Seiriol Davies about long-term unemployment in the UK. She is Artist-in-Resident at Room to Heal, a therapeutic charity for asylum seekers.
